Paranoid schizophrenia


Paraphrenia is a form of schizophrenia. It is the most common form of schizophrenia. A person with paraphrenia experiences delusions and paranoia.These delusions can cause jealousy. If a person with paraphrenia does not act on there delusions they appear to be normal until they act on there delusions.

If diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia you might experience: paranoia, jealousy, hearing voices that tell you to commit a crime, a humming or whistling giving the allusion someone is following you, smell, taste, and bodily sensations. To be diagnosed with paraphrenia you must have prominent delusions/hallucinations.

Treatment


For paranoid schizophrenia there are different kinds of treatment. In paranoid one treatment is using a psychiatrist. More than one psychiatrist may be used because this type of schizophrenia effects different aspects of your life. Medication is key for paranoid schizophrenia. Without medication they is little to no hope of living a semi normal life.

Effect on daily life


There are different types of medication based on what stage you are at. After being on the medication the patient feels normal and believes they do not need the medication any longer. When on the medication they can go on with there daily lives, but once off they may start seeing delusions and act out at any moment.
