To be diagnosed with delusional you must experience non bizarre delusions. For example being followed, poisoned or loved at a distance. Also the delusions must persist and stay fairly the same. You can only be diagnosed if these delusions are not from medical illness or drug related causes.

The treatment needed for delusional schizophrenia is called atypical or antipsychotic medication. You can use cognitive therapy, which tries to do away with the delusions by using hypothetical questions and showing empathy for the person.

When diagnosed with delusional schizophrenia you begin using therapy and medication. After a while on the medication you may feel normal the delusions are gone and you start to believe you are better, you might want to stop taking your medication and stop seeking help.
